Light from the sun comes over the water. Dark and stubborn, the old structure stands against the tide.

A glass arrangement reflects light through a window and mirror. Artificial elegance at its most transparent. A luxury indulgence of shattered illusion.
With the right point of view, the glass collapses into a chess-like pattern of shining light and steel.
A more careful look at the “canvas” that serves as the backdrop for the previous photos. The crane is captured through the reflection, as if drowning in a fractured glass pool.
In the second entry in this series, the shadow-crane makes its appearance. This is a nice effect: harsh light hits a jagged structure, but projects a soft abstraction onto the building surface. Bits of texture can be picked up among the different panels.
This series focuses on the interplay of structural components, reflection and shadow. The main juxtaposition is that of a temporary surface, a glass & metal skin for a building, and the way it responds to its environment. It is modular, but also random. Strict, but also playful.
