In which our protagonist sees the levels constructed of metal and glass, and thinks of ways to scale the mountain of steel.
It’s legs are rusted, and anchored wide. The base is a line drawing of orange and black.


Despite their tendency to fall on unsuspecting bystanders, cranes are still pretty neat. If we gave them sentience, would they build a city of cranes? Or one giant crane? Or just a beehive of structures. Either way, the satisfying thing about cranes is that their imagery fits their function exactly.


This series was shot from within the Eiffel Tower in Paris. The goal was to abstract the object such that the design of it spoke louder than the cultural image. A washed out orange light provided just the right contrast against the sky, outlining and highlighting elegant structural elements.
