Structure melts and dissolves in a serrated reflection.
Structure melts and dissolves in a serrated reflection.
Extracting elegance from forced complexity. These shots break down the Gehry building into the thinnest of elements. The glass monolith feels fractured, delicate, yours.
We scale the walls, hard, cold, dim in the dusk. Impenetrable they stand. How do we go forward? How do we move up? How is this even possible? Against all probability we will break to the other side, to our reflection.
This shot cuts the composition in 2: sharp positive and negative space battle for control. Striped energy balances these tendencies.
I am taking a break from “Vertigo”, and mixing in some recent shots of Frank Gehry’s IAC Building on 18th and West End. It is a beautiful but thoroughly stubborn object, which I had the pleasure of conceptually breaking down into smaller bits. Themes of composition, line and reflection predominate.
